At this time, I had just been assigned two Baronial scrolls for the event, then suddenly I had two Kingdom level and both were Orders of Merit, one being an Order of High Merit. I was also assigned two more that were on the verge of being backlogs but not just yet. All during finals week. Progress pictures.

This was done from an image sent to me by the person who made the trade with me on Facebook. At the time she was Princess of one of the Kingdoms just north of us. I made a fake shell gold as I was not certain of my gilding abilities. The rest is gouache and ink on pergamenta.
Up to this point I had only been doing backlog scrolls and bookmarks... Then Chalice of the Sun God came and my Barony needed A&S entries for our teams. So, in my typical "what the heck" tradition, I tackled putting together a display of various exemplars, redone by my hand, since scribal was the only medium I figured I could do at that point. While I did not win, I believe I made a respectable entry, particularly as it was the first time I had ever done the documentation and attempted to enter. Paris, Bibl. Sainte-Geneviève, ms. 3141, f. 041v - vue 2 estmated 13th century, Latin from the book Traités d'arithmétique et d'astronomie. Found in Universiteitsbibliotheek Leiden, VLF 31, (Liber Floridus) by Lambert a S.Audomaro est. 1121 AD. England, Nicholas of Lynn, Arundel MS347 – f -34 c. 1386-1400 Kalendarium, cum figuris eclipsum, tabulis, et canonibus. Albrecht Dürer’s 1515 Imagines coeli Meridionales, a painted wood cut. Works in progress.. All are done on pergamenta with gouache and ink.
The finished work. This was a backlog assignment for a Coral Branch (Atlantian Award of Arms level for Arts and Sciences). Gouche and acrylic on Bristol board. The whole thing was hand drawn without a lightbox from the Hours of Catherine of Cleves. The script was from Droghan's not the exemplar, but I would get better about that in time too..
Progress pics... These are more of my earliest works.. from 2014. This was a scroll blank/practice that I made at the Spring event Manuscripts in the Abbey. No exemplar, just me playing around with techniques I was shown that weekend while I was waiting on something to work on. Bookmarks! These are a series of bookmarks I made for the first Stierbach Baronial Birthday where I was the Minister of Arts and Sciences. I felt that since I was running the contest, I should not enter, but it was alright for me to practice what I was learning to make prizes/gifts for the winner of the Dirty Dozen competition.
Sorry I've been a bit lax on getting this organized, but between school and other projects, I've been rather a bit busy. However, the wedding is over so that's one less stress off my plate! This was one of my early attempts, using Bristol and watercolor to imitate what I saw in the exemplar. Silver BowThis was my first "live" award (meaning it was not a backlog) This was a Silver Bow (Stierbach Baronial Archery Award ) done for Pennsic in 2014. Watercolor on Bristol.
